Every listing goes through review

No listing on NextDoor NG appears live without human review. Whether submitted by a registered agent or via our community WhatsApp channel, every property passes through a moderation queue before it becomes visible to the public.

We use a combination of automated scam scoring and human judgment to assess each submission. High-risk submissions are held or rejected before they reach you.

What "Agent Verified" means

Agents with the Verified badge have been reviewed by our team. Verification includes:

• Confirmed phone number
• Business or professional identity check
• At least one approved listing on the platform

Agents without a badge are in Community Unverified status. Their listings are visible but clearly marked. You can still contact them. Just apply the same caution you would with any unverified contact.

How to spot and report fraud

Common warning signs in Nigerian property listings:

• Agent asks for payment before showing the property
• Rent is significantly below market rate
• Agent is never available to meet in person
• Listing photos appear copied from elsewhere
• Pressure to pay quickly "before another person takes it"

Complaints

If you have a dispute with an agent or believe you have been defrauded, you can file a formal complaint on any listing page. Complaints are reviewed by our team. Where the situation warrants legal referral, we work with qualified legal counsel in Lagos.

Note: We do not handle disputes between private parties. We investigate conduct on our platform and take action against agents who violate our standards.
